Hello everyone, We’re sharing some general prevention advice to help keep our communities safe and enjoyable for all, particularly as we continue to receive reports of anti‑social behaviour (ASB) and unsafe use of e‑scooters and bikes on our roads. 👥 Anti‑Social Behaviour – How You Can HelpAnti‑social behaviour can have a real impact on individuals, neighbourhoods, and local businesses. You can help by: Reporting issues early – If you see persistent noise, nuisance behaviour, damage, or groups causing concern, please let us know so we can intervene promptly.Looking out for vulnerable neighbours – A quick check-in can make a big difference.Keeping communal areas secure – Ensure gates, shared spaces, and property boundaries are properly locked.Encouraging young people to use local facilities – Parks, sports areas, and youth clubs can be great alternatives to gathering in unsuitable or unsafe places.Watching out for suspicious activity – Trust your instincts. If something feels out of place, report it.🛴 E‑Scooters & Bikes – Road Safety ReminderWe are also seeing increased use of e‑scooters and off‑road bikes, sometimes in ways that put riders and the public at risk. Please remember: Private e‑scooters cannot legally be used on public roads, pavements, cycle lanes or public spaces. They are only permitted on private land with the landowner’s permission.E‑scooters used illegally may be seized.Riders of bicycles and e‑bikes should always follow the Highway Code, including:- Using lights when required
- Wearing a helmet where possible
- Riding with care and consideration for others
Parents and guardians – please ensure young people understand the rules and the safety risks.📞 How to ReportNon‑emergency: 101Online: www.staffordshire.police.ukCrime in progress or immediate danger: 999Your information helps us take action, target patrols, and keep our communities safe.
